Walter Daszkowski, CPA, PFS
Walter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John’s University. His years of service in public accounting include diversified experience with large and mid-size CPA firms, where he worked with Fortune 500, mid and small size clientele. He currently serves as the Vice-Chairman on the Board of Directors of Empire State Bank, sits on the Monmouth Medical Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees and is a Board Member of Rumson Baseball. He is also a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a former Executive Board Member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants at the State Level and the former President of the Staten Island / Brooklyn Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a former Executive Board Member of the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation, a former Board Member of the YMCA Board of Managers and formerly sat on the Finance Committee of Holmdel Township of New Jersey.
Additionally, Walter is an AICPA designated Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).
Michele Tompkins, CPA
Michele received both her Master’s of Science degree in 2000 and Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John’s University in 1999. She has a broad range of public accounting experience which includes audit, review and compilation engagements as well as tax and advisory services for both corporate and individual clients. In her 17+ years with the firm, one of her greatest professional achievements is the relationship she has established and maintained with her business clients.
Michele is the partner in charge of the Peer Review Program and was the former Young CPA Chairperson for the Staten Island Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
She is a current member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and also a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mark Weg, CPA, PFS
Mark is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York, New Jersey and Florida. He received his MBA in Accounting and Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from St. John’s University. His years in the accounting profession include a diverse background in public and private sector accounting as well as both large corporations and start-up organizations. Mark currently provides comprehensive accounting services for a wide variety of individual and corporate clients including tax, attest, planning and consulting services.
He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and The Rotary Club of Staten Island. Mark is also a former State Executive Board Member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and a former President of the Staten Island Chapter. Additionally, Mark is an AICPA designated Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).
Daniel Carbonella, CPA
Dan Carbonella is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and a partner in our firm. He received his MBA and Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from St. John’s University. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Dan previously worked at a public accounting firm in Manhattan servicing hedge funds and investment advisory firms in the areas of audit, tax, and general accounting services.
Since joining our firm in January 2009, Dan has serviced clients in those same industries as well as in the construction, real estate, and various professional fields. He has worked with both large and start-up organizations. He also provides tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.
Michael Ferraro, CPA
Michael is a 1971 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Public Accountants since 1977. His entire career has been involved in public accounting, serving the auditing, accounting and tax needs of publicly traded companies, non-profit organizations, small businesses and individuals.
He is well experienced in personal and business taxation and in representing taxpayers before the IRS and state and tax authorities. He has been active in the community and serves as a board member and treasurer in his church for the past 30 years.
In addition, he has served on the boards of several other non-profit organizations and condominium associations.
Richard P. Wismer, CPA, Principal
Rich a Certified Public Accountant, who has 25 years of extensive accounting experience in the areas of taxation and estate planning. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Brockport. He has written many articles and given seminars on Taxation and Estate planning.
He is currently a Board member of the Political Action Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and was a past President of the Staten Island Chapter of the New York State society of Certified Public Accountants.
Additionally, he has served on the boards of nonprofit organizations serving people with disabilities. Rich is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
Steven T Spinello, CPA
Steven received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Monmouth University. Steven began his career with one of the big eight accounting firms working with large partnerships and multinational clients performing audits and tax filings. He later worked for a large asset management firm in the investment banking area. Steven went on to start his own CPA practice in the early 1990’s and continued to operate as a sole proprietor until recently. As a CPA, Steven provides a range of services to his clients including areas such as estate tax, estate planning, financial planning, real estate partnerships and small business reviews, tax and consulting. Additionally, Steven works with high-net-worth individuals in tax planning and preparation. He has served on the boards of several non-profits and as well as the borough council of his local community. Steven is an avid sailor and enjoys the outdoors.
He is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Public Accountants.
Michelle Peoples, CPA, Principal
Michelle received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Villanova University and began her career at a big six accounting firm in New York. Here, she worked predominantly in the Audit group, with a focus on large public companies, due diligence on possible acquisitions and nonprofit compliance audits. She later worked in-house in the corporate accounting department of a large public company and then as the Controller of one of its New York-based business units. She moved to the Jersey Shore area in 2012, rejoining the public accounting sector, consulting with small business owners and startups to establish procedures, manage their business finances and provide tax services.
Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York and New Jersey. She has been a board member of the grantmaking organization, Impact 100 Jersey Coast, since its inception, is currently on the board of Haven Adoptions and Family Services, and current co-President of the Villanova University Club of the Jersey Shore.
Dario Pompeo, Benefits Consultant
Dario Pompeo is a partner in the Lotus Advisory Group. Dario graduated from the Wharton School of Business in 1995 and began his career as a securities trader on Wall Street. During his time as a trader, Dario’s entrepreneurial fervor led him to finance several businesses in various industries, ranging from digital video production to the food and beverage industry.
After years of trading, Dario partnered with Walter Daszkowski in the insurance agency Daszkowski & Sisti, Inc to expand its services and form the Lotus Advisory group, a full service insurance company.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dario is involved in his community, devoting time and energy to numerous charitable organizations and as a member of the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation.
